Southern Officials Unite For Gun Rights

by Cole Cleburne at the Fire Eater Blog.

In the wake of the recent moves by the central government in Washington, Southern elected officials have release statements all supporting the rights of citizens to own firearms. In general each of these statements have said that any move by the federal government to limit gun rights will not be enforced in their jurisdiction.

Texas Governor Rick Perry,  the Sheriff of Madison County (AL), Sheriffs in Kentucky and Texas, as well as a few states outside the south have made statements. The latest in the chorus of officials supporting the 2nd Amendment and the gun rights of citizens is Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant. Along with this state representative Chris Brown (R) has stated he will draft legislation that states that guns manufactured in Mississippi fall under state law not federal law.

'The one state conspicuously absent is Virginia. Carpetbagger Governor Robert "Bob" McDonnell, the governor who issued an apology for Virginia's participation in slavery after re-instituting Confederate History Month, has been conspicuously silent as has his Lt Governor, and key legislators in Richmond. On top of that not one local law enforcement agency head has voluntarily spoken up in defense of the 2d amendment and the sovereignty of the citizens of Virginia to own a weapon. NOT ONE nor has Gov Robert "Bob" McDonnell encouraged any local law enforcement agency heads to speak out on the gun issue. Why is this? Well, it could be that from Stafford County north to the state line and the immediate surroundings of the VA-DC area have been over run with carpetbaggers and scalawags wanting to waddle up to the cash cow and engorge themselves on tax dollars. Thus the area of northern VA has sold out to D.C. And just as a reminder, Gov Robert "Bob" McDonnell is not a Virginian. He was born in Philadelphia PA and moved with his parents to Virginia when he was 12. That means he was raised and instilled with carpetbagger social, and ideological ideas. He does not have the sovereign citizens of Virginia's best interests truly at heart. It has been rumored that he maybe in the running for the GOP presidential nomination. So there in lies the rub for Virginia. We have become a stepping stone for higher political office by Robert "Bob" McDonnell.' --- The Virginian Southron
